Mahagany Homeschoolers is a brand new support group for African American in the Ohio area. It is our goal to provide support and information. An old African proverb states, it takes a village to raise a child and we believe this site amplifies the spirit of this proverb.

O-HEN is a network of homeschooling families in the Northeast Ohio area. The network, started in 1991, is run completely by volunteers.
O-HEN does not sell or distribute any curriculum, textbooks, or teaching supplies.O-HEN holds parents meetings several times a year. The meetings are open to the public and usually held at libraries in the Cleveland, Akron, and Canton areas. The meetings present a brief overview of homeschooling
with a question and answer period.
O-HEN publishes a newsletter for listing field trips, classes, and other enrichment opportunities that have been planned by our members. The newsletter is published on-line in the Members Only pages.
O-HEN supports a student-led, interest-centered approach but welcomes all families regardless of educational philosophy and teaching style. O-HEN welcomes home-educating families of all religious belies.
